Pool Algaecide - Algae Prevention in Your Pool Water
Algae are microscopic plant life that in the right conditions can multiply rapidly, usually turning pool water green and opaque. The secret to keeping your pool algae-free is to maintain the correct water balance, sufficient sanitiser levels at all times, regularly shock treat the pool, and periodically apply algaecide.
Please note: Algaecide is a preventative method. If you are trying to recover from an algae outbreak please use a shock product and a flocculant product. Adding algaecide alone is not a complete solution to water recovery. For help and assistance with algae or questions about algaecide please contact our help line.
Fun fact! Organic matter such as leaves from trees and other garden debris is food for algae. By regular netting and removal of debris from your pool, you starve the algae and slow down growth, which goes a long way towards keeping your pool algae-free. Pools with a lot of overhanging trees are always harder to maintain!
